Information
Anyone visiting foreign parts and wishing to carry on dancing should try looking in the local Yellow Pages ( or equivalent) for Dance Studios or similar. The local papers also frequently list dances in the area. The USA dance ‘society’ is divided into local dance chapters (similar in concept to hells angels chapters but a lot more civilized!!!) who can frequently advise what’s on in the area, for instance anyone who may be visiting the Vestal / Binghamton area of New York State should consider visiting the Fun & Dance Studio - Binghamton, USA this small studio is run by Tom Eurieck who was third in one of the All USA ProAm dancing championships. You will find that dancers are prepared to travel considerable distances - Tom’s monthly Saturday night dances attract dancers from as far away as Syracus (an 80 mile trip each way!).
The American style of dancing is different to that which you are used to but you will find that our International style is appreciated - especially the quickstep which for some reason is not generally danced.
